BAE Systems reveals job cuts
//
BAE Systems is to cut approximately 500 jobs n the UK with the closure of three factories, it has been announced.

The FTSE 100-listed company is to shut sites in Telford, Leeds and Guildford by the end of the year, with positions also being removed in Barrow and Newcastle.

As a result, employers of the defence manufacturer may need to find new ways to earn extra money.

In a statement, the firm said the move is a response to a fall in the number of military contracts it has been awarded.

"While we clearly regret having to take this step, our forecast UK order intake has reduced and we have to match the size of our business appropriately," managing director David Allott remarked.

Earlier this month Lloyds Banking Group announced it is cutting 985 jobs across the UK, with the reductions being made in the financial institution's car finance operations.ADNFCR-1681-ID-19150073-ADNFCR
