According to strategist at HiFX Marc Cogliatti, the situation regarding the value of the UK currency is "pretty encouraging", news that may be of interest to those currently carrying out Forex trading.
Mr Cogliatti explained that the pound will "appreciate against the vast majority of its counterparts."
However, he added that there is one area of uncertainty concerning its value against the euro, especially given the fact that the economies of France and Germany have both now exited recession.
He said that sterling is currently at a "key crossroads" with the euro, as the recovery in these two countries has raised "a few questions"
France and Germany both recorded growth of 0.3 per cent in the second quarter of 2009, whereas the UK saw a 0.8 per cent decline during the same three-month period.
