Shares in BT have climbed during stock market trading today (June 28th) after it emerged the firm will be able to offer Sky Sports on its BT Vision television service.

The company has reached a deal with BSkyB that will see Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 available to customers by the end of July.

BT's stock was in positive territory on the FTSE 100 following the announcement and was priced at 130.7p at 14:18 BST - an increase of 0.46 per cent.

BSkyB's share price also rose, adding 0.57 per cent to be priced at 705p by 14:20 BST.

The agreement means BT will be able to offer the two sports channels to its Vision customers before the start of the football season in August and chief executive of BT Retail Gavin Patterson said the firm is "delighted" with the deal.

"We know our customers will be keen to sign up for the two channels," he stated.
