According to property website Rightmove, the average asking price of a home was 3,000 less than in May.
Thompson Financial reports that the development represents the first fall in the month of June since the survey began.
Rightmove has also said that many people putting their house on the market are having to slash their asking prices in order to attract a buyer.
Miles Shipside, Rightmove commercial director, commented: said that many sellers were having to reduce the asking price of their properties by at least ten per cent.
"With approximately half the mortgage funds available, homes have to stand out to attract the half of buyers that can still buy," he said.
