Student regret 'fuelled by recession'

Student regret 'fuelled by recession'
//
A significant proportion of students say they regret their choice of degree due to the prospect of a recession in the UK.

Research by Opinionpanel Research found that almost half of students think the economic gloom could make it more difficult to get their dream job.

Meanwhile, one in 12 students regrets their choice of university degree.

Femi Bola, associate director of student services and head of employability at the University of East London, commented: "It shouldn't be forgotten that graduates are the cheaper end of the employment chain. Their jobs may not be the ones that will be cut. Work still exists, it just may be in a different sector to the one that graduates anticipated."

In related news, the European commission said recently that the UK will be hit hardest by the onset of economic recession, reports the Guardian.
