UK economy 'will grow in 2010'

The UK economy has come through the worst of the current recession and will begin to recover in the coming months, the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has suggested.

Economic growth will begin to occur in the second half of next year, the body has stated, with the downturn expected to ease during the second quarter of 2009, something that may interest those involved in Forex trading.

Richard Lambert, director-general of the CBI, said in a statement that there are "a few tentative signs" that the worst of the recession may be over.

Low inflation, a weaker pound and rate cuts are likely to aid recovery, he stated, but warned that the downturn is "by no means over".

The prediction comes following a warning from the International Monetary Fund, which said that recovery from the current global recession - which it believes will last longer than previous downturns - is likely to be "sluggish".ADNFCR-1681-ID-19129303-ADNFCR
