The value of the dollar has declined against a number of its counterparts during Forex trading this morning.

According to Bloomberg, the greenback was at a three-week low against the euro, being priced at $1.4502 at 06:50 GMT in London today (January 11th).

It fell to 92.28 yen after ending last week up on the Japanese currency for the fourth consecutive week, rising to 93.77 yen on Friday, a level not seen since August 2009.

The currency also dipped to C$1.0253 when compared to the Canadian dollar and chief trader at Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking Takashi Yamamoto told the news source that the current trend is for "the dollar to be sold versus Asian and other currencies".

Economic recovery in the US "isn't progressing as much as people had expected", he noted, but added that Asian countries are faring better.

Last week's gain came on the back of latest US employment figures, which showed that the jobs market in the country is improving.
