ETF stock market trading reaches 10-yr benchmark
//
Stock market trading of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) has reached an important benchmark at the London Stock Exchange.

It has been ten years since the exchange admitted the first ETFs on to its financial markets, a product which has been described as "exciting" for investors.

ETFs can be used in individual savings accounts and attract no stamp duty, while they enjoy the lowest annual charges when compared to all of the collective investment schemes.

Donald Keith, deputy chief executive at FTSE Group, said: "FTSE has continued to support ETF investment with incredible innovation and growth, increasing investor access and prospects for diversification."

Investors who want to diversify their stock market trading strategies may find ETFs prove ideal.

Constant year-on-year growth has been noted for trading activity in ETFs, with an average annual growth rate of 100 per cent for the total number of trades.

The value of ETFs traded has experienced an average annual growth rate of 69 per cent.
