Arkady Dvorkovich, economic adviser for the Kremlin, said the yuan's adjustability would probably not greatly affect the exchange rate of the rouble.
He also announced that the yuan will not be individually debated in the pending Group of 8/Group of 20 conference, adding Russia is pleased with the new adaptability of the yuan.
Reuters has also reported how the yuan's appreciation will affect certain sectors, drawing on the results of a trade fair survey it carried out earlier this year in China.
Companies in China that export goods would suffer losses from the change against the dollar, but vehicle makers and airlines buying car parts and jet fuel would be among the beneficiaries.
It explained that those who stand to gain are those that purchase raw materials from abroad.
