In a piece for the London Evening Standard, John Graham noted that there is huge volatility with this type of gambling.
He added that players could go short on the time of the first scrum in a rugby game for £10 a second, with a standard spread offered at 300-320 seconds (five minutes).
But consumers need to be careful as if there was no scrum for 20 minutes (1,200 seconds), which is unlikely but possible, then they would be £9,000 down as the math is 1,200 minus the spread offered of 300 and times the stake of £10.
