According to Bloomberg, the leading index on the British stock exchange has dropped 0.6 per cent to stand at 5,986.38 after shedding 33.13 points.
Some companies were affected by monthly US payroll data falling lower than expected.
ARM Holdings was down for the first time this week as it slumped by 3.5 per cent to 465 pence, dropping its advance to 9.9 per cent.
What's more, it was a bad day for Fresnillo - the world's largest silver producer - as the organisation shed three per cent to 1,531 pence, its lowest intraday price since December 20th.
This comes after the index decreased by 0.4 per cent yesterday afternoon to stand at 6,068.55, despite a positive day for ARM Holdings, which put on 6.8 per cent after Microsoft announced it is set to launch a new version of Windows based on the company's chip designs.
