According to Reuters, the leading index on the British stock exchange advanced by 75.58 points to 5,993.29 as of 12:58 GMT.
It was the third increase in four days for the FTSE 100, which saw good results on the day for BG Group.
The latter put on 4.2 per cent to 1,382.5 pence, while there was also positive news for Vodafone, which went up by two per cent at 183 pence.
What's more, Anglo American made gains of 3.2 per cent to 3174.5 pence and BHP Billiton increased by 2.6 per cent.
This comes after the FTSE 100 decreased by 18 points - to lower than 5,950 - yesterday due to the gross domestic product announcement, which saw a surprise contraction of 0.5 per cent in the fourth quarter of the UK, the Financial Times reported.
