Futures on the S&P 500 fell 0.1 per cent to 1,253.50, after one per cent gains and another 0.4 per cent fall earlier in the day. The Dow Jones Industrial average dropped seven points, leaving it at 12,105, reports Bloomberg.
The European Central Bank (ECB) is expected to announce several measures tomorrow to help the eurozone recover from the ongoing monetary crisis, after it was revealed today banks had asked it for more than $50 billion to create dollar funding.
These new measures could involve making it easier for institutions to access loans from the ECB itself in an effort to stimulate the economy.
Eric Green, a Philadelphia-based fund manager at Penn Capital Management, told the news provider American trading was based on what was happening in Europe.
"There are too many moving pieces for anyone to know when we will be on the other side of the crisis," he said.
